small, rounded, wafer-shaped, called a samara

yellow, not usually showy; deciduous

sun to light shade; medium moisture, well-drained soil; very adaptable

good resistance to Dutch elm disease

specimen shade tree, lawn tree, urban tree

Notes:

called lacebark elm because of the attractive exfoliating mottled bark; native to Asia
